the zoo
We took julia for her first trip to the zoo on the day before thanksgiving. Lots of fun! The flamingo's were her favorite BY FAR---so here is a pic.

JUNE 24
So, I do realize that it has been quite a while since I have updated, and I have two very good reasons. One being that my camera is/has been in nicks truck and he is at work during the only time I have a chance to think about blogging (julia's nap time). And blogging is not very interesting without pictures. And the other reason seems to be a popular and frequent excuse these days for a long gap between posts.....being in the first trimester of pregnancy. June 24 is the estimated date of arrival for nehring baby # 2!!! WE are very excited and look foward to being out of the sleepy/nausating days of the first trimester!
EDIT***** I am adding a few pics that I stole from facebook. We went to the mountains with our freinds katie and paul firth. Julia is, Again, clinging to her beloved doll. And her good friend braden was too cute not to post his picture.

camping with the fam
We went camping with the fam in north georgia for fall break. My brother looks like a terrorist because of his beard. Julia loved playing in the creek with nick. Susanna got all light headed on our trip up amicolola fall and we had to bum a drink off of someone at the top, and then let dad and nick hike to the bottom and drive back to the top to get us.

cousins get together
This past weekend the cousins on my moms side of the family got together. All my sisters and borthers, and our 2 cousins. One of them has a little girl, emma, who shared all her stuff with julia. As you can see below she even let julia brush her teeth with the bubble wand. We are in the middle of our 2 week of school.....things are going well, everyone is getting used to the new routine. I teach from 9-12 and julia stays with my mom. Nick's football season will officially get started this weekend with their first game! Maybe I will have some pics to post.

summer time is ending!
Sadly the summer is coming to an end. Nick and I start pre-planning August 1. I am only going to be teaching part time. (3 50 minute classes) Here are a few picutres of recent events. I stayed in Atlanta with amelia for an AP biology training seminar thing so julia and Nick had a week of bonding time. She discovered some new entertainment, like hiding in the toy chest.
Then nick and julia joined us in ATL to ride bikes on the silver comet trail, which was great!!!
And lastly a picture of julia in a dress that has survived me and all 5 of my sisters...and julia.

back from wisconsin
We are back from our trip to wisconsin! Here are a few pics of julia and her cousins and her aunts and uncles. We were very thankful that she mostly slept in the car, yeah, the car....we drove there. About 18 hours in case you were curious. But, she was really good and the occasional stop at the rest area playgrounds were enough to keep her happy.
We were spoiled by the AWESOME weather up there....about 80 on a hot day with a nice breeze all the time. It was great, and a good time to see Nicks family who we don't get to see very often.

service with a smile
Julia loves helping us with everything around the house. We have a few projects to do this summer because we moved in about a month before julia was born last year and haven't had a chance to do much in the way of home improvement since then. We are doing a repainting and reflooring job in one room that hasn't had a makeover in probably 30 years. Lets just say it is definitly overdue!

prom chaperones
So we were prom chaperones this past weekend....always brings lots of entertainment!! Being at the prom when you not in high school anymore is hillarious...watching the drama without being part of it! My sister posted this picture of the "fake magazine"(below) which I thought was funny! Except nicks face is covered up....like "al" on HOME Improvements!

gardening ect.
Nick and julia planted a few things in our garden. Tomatoes, cucmbers, squash.....and I'm unsure of what else may have been planted. For some reason I have never enjoyed gardening so I'm not too involved, except in the cooking and eating process. Anyway, julia has a great time digging in the dirt and getting messy!!

the last month
We have been busy this past month, so I haven't had time to post anything. After reading donna's blog I was motivated to update for fear she might axe me from her fellow bloggers!!
Nicks soccer team at troup high went into the playoffs, thus extended the length of the season (hence the busy-ness). In addition he has been preparing for his new role next year as head coach of the football team at lafayette christian school. He got a one week break between soccer and spring training.
News in my family: Rosemary gradutated from North Georgia this past weekend AND we found out that my brother and his wife are expecting a child!!! So julia is, thankfully, not going to be the only grandchild forever!! (Not that we didn't enjoy all the spoiling, but she needs to learn to share attention before she gets TOO old!)
So, thats about whats been going on in our lives lately. Here are a few pics.

Below are some easter pictures of julia, of course. She did not want to be still so I gave her the phone so that she would be still, whihch was great. AFter a few shots with the phone I wanted some normal pics without the cell phone....she was not happy. But its a hillarious picture anyway!!
